Stephen L. Langeland

Stephen L. Langeland, founder and President of Stephen L. Langeland, P.C. Born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI, Stephen is a 1977 graduate of Kalamazoo College.

Stephen graduated from the University of Tulsa School of Law in 1980 and returned to Kalamazoo.

Stephen was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1981 and began practicing as an associate in the firm of Walsh & Miller and shortly thereafter became the youngest full partner in the firm. In 1993 he formed Stephen L. Langeland, P.C. to focus on his specialty of Creditors rights. Stephen represents dozens of financial institutions, credit unions and banks with regards to collections, workouts, bankruptcies and mortgage foreclosures. In addition Stephen advises many small business owners on organizational issues, contracts, collections and general business matters.

Since 1997, Stephen has served as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for the Western District of Michigan handling administering thousands of personal and business bankruptcies.

Stephen is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. He writes and lectures frequently on bankruptcy, collections and mortgage foreclosures.
